“Plenty ⁤of Discord ‌Developers out there have had their‍ eyes​ on Activities, wondering when they could create their own. Starting March 18th, Discord Developers will be able to⁤ build new games and experiences that can be played directly on the platform with our new Embedded App ⁣SDK.”

Fostering ​Developer Growth and Discovery

With the introduction of the SDK, the Activities section of Discord will witness a significant influx of minigames that users can enjoy directly within their chat conversations. Discord’s vision is to evolve into a comprehensive platform for developers, facilitating building, sharing, ‌distribution, discovery, and monetization⁤ of⁣ their creations. In addition to⁢ the SDK, Discord is exploring a feature ‌that allows users to attach apps to their accounts, enabling them to carry these apps across different ⁣servers. To further support developers, Discord is reintroducing its ⁢app pitches initiative. Developers can present prototype app ideas and potentially secure funding of up to $30,000. In the ⁢previous year, AI tools, an artist-focused app,‌ a coral reef cam app, and a city-building minigame were among the winners of the funding.
