Insights from a Press Dinner
Recently, I found myself at a press dinner organized by Box, an enterprise company. Among the attendees were executives from data-centric companies like Datadog and MongoDB. Typically, these executives maintain a polished demeanor during on-the-record discussions. However, I was taken aback by a conversation with Aaron Levie, the CEO of Box.
Levie informed us that he had to leave abruptly after dessert to catch a flight to Washington, DC. His destination was TechNet Day, an event where Silicon Valley representatives engage in rapid-fire meetings with numerous members of Congress. The purpose? To influence what the uninvited public can only speculate about.
