Messenger ‍Introduces Shared Albums,⁤ HD Photo Sharing, and Large File Transfers

Meta has unveiled a suite of new features​ for Messenger, aimed at enhancing the user experience and catering to those who frequently create shared albums⁢ or exchange high-resolution images⁢ through platforms like⁤ Google Drive.‌ The updates include the ability ⁣to create shared albums within chats, send photos in high definition, and⁤ share files up to 100MB in size.

Organizing Memories with Shared Albums

Messenger users ‌can⁤ now create albums of photos and videos within group chats, providing a convenient way to organize⁤ and showcase​ memories from events such as⁣ vacations or milestone⁣ celebrations. To create an⁤ album, users can select multiple photos from the chat composer and tap “create album,” or long-press a photo in the chat. Adding photos⁤ to existing albums is as simple⁣ as tapping the “Add to ​album”‌ option.

All participants in a chat⁣ have the ability to view, add, delete, and download the contents of an album, which can be accessed by tapping the “Media” button​ within the chat. This feature ​sets Messenger apart from Meta’s other messaging platforms, WhatsApp and Instagram DMs, which ⁣currently do not offer shared album functionality.

Elevating Visual Quality with ‌HD Photo Sharing

Messenger⁤ users⁢ can ​now share images in high definition by toggling the new “HD” option after selecting ⁣a photo from the chat composer. Multiple photos can be sent in ​HD by tapping on additional images. This⁣ update ‍follows Meta’s introduction of HD photo support ​on WhatsApp in ‍September 2023.
