Apple Intelligence: A New Era of AI for Apple Devices
Introduction to Apple Intelligence
Apple has unveiled its own AI system, named Apple Intelligence, which will be integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. This new system is set to bring a variety of AI-powered features to Apple devices, enhancing user experience across multiple apps and services.
Key Features of Apple Intelligence
Image Playground
One of the standout features is the Image Playground, which allows users to create images in Messages using generative AI. You can choose from three different styles: animation, sketch, and cartoon. This tool can also be used in other apps to easily add visuals to notes or documents.
Genmojis
Apple Intelligence introduces Genmojis, enabling users to create personalized emojis. These can be designed to look like yourself, a friend, or any character you describe.

Siri Overhaul
Conversational Siri
Siri has been significantly upgraded with Apple Intelligence. It now features a new look and can be used conversationally, understanding the context of normal speech. Users can also interact with Siri via text inputs, similar to chatbots like Google’s Gemini or ChatGPT.
Enhanced Functionality
Siri will now work seamlessly with Photos and other apps, including third-party software. For example, you can say, “bring up photos of Mat,” and Siri will find all related images. You can then instruct, “make this photo pop,” and Siri will enhance the picture.

Future Features
Future updates will enable Siri to find information on stored images and add it to forms, such as extracting your ID number from a scanned passport or driving license, all through voice commands.
Email Interaction
Apple Intelligence will also improve email interactions, allowing the AI to reply to emails more efficiently.
Integration and Availability
Apple’s AI system will function both on the device and in the cloud for more data-intensive tasks. It will also integrate ChatGPT for free. Apple Intelligence will be available with iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, expected to launch in September alongside the iPhone 16 series. It will also be compatible with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPad and Mac devices with M1 and later chips. Note that the new Siri features require the device language to be set to US English.
