Carv Secures $10M Series A to Empower Users with Data Ownership and Monetization
Carv, a pioneering data layer platform, has successfully raised $10 million in a Series A funding round spearheaded by Tribe Capital and IOSG Ventures. The platform aims to revolutionize the way web3 gaming and AI companies, as well as individual gamers, control and monetize their data.
Bridging the Gap Between Web2 and Web3
Carv’s innovative solutions include the CARV Protocol, a modular data layer that seamlessly connects web2 identities with web3 tokens, and CARV Play, a cross-platform credentialing system and game distribution platform. Additionally, CARA, Carv’s AI Agent, serves as a personalized gaming assistant that integrates with web3 wallets, offering game recommendations, activities, and project suggestions.
Victor Yu, co-founder and COO of Carv, emphasized the company’s unique approach:
“Carv differentiates itself by putting data ownership and monetization rights in the hands of users. Any revenue generated from leveraging users’ data gets shared back with the data creators and themselves. Additionally, we’ve created a unified user ID standard (ERC-7231) that bridges web2 and web3, enabling seamless data portability versus today’s siloed solutions.”
Impressive Growth and Profitability
Carv has experienced remarkable growth, boasting 2.5 million registered users and over 350 integrated gaming and AI company partners. The platform has been profitable since December 2023, generating a monthly recurring revenue exceeding $1 million, with significant month-over-month growth.
Enhancing the Platform and Expanding Use Cases
The newly acquired capital will be utilized to enhance the design of the CARV Protocol, ensuring its scalability and ability to support a wider range of use cases. Additionally, Carv plans to launch CARV Link, which will improve on-chain identity and data authentication, and CARV Database, designed to manage various types of user data efficiently.
The Series A round also saw participation from notable investors such as Arweave, Consensys (developer of MetaMask and Linea), Draper Dragon, Fenbushi Capital, LiquidX, MARBLEX (the web3 arm of Korean gaming company Netmarble), No Limit Holdings, and OKX Ventures.
With its innovative solutions and strong focus on user empowerment, Carv is well-positioned to revolutionize the way data is controlled and monetized in the web3 gaming and AI industries.
