Olive Max: A Hearing Aid for Mild to Moderate Hearing Loss
If you’re experiencing mild to moderate hearing loss, ranging from 26 to 55 decibels, you might be a perfect candidate for the Olive Max hearing aids. These devices are specifically designed for individuals who don’t necessarily require a traditional hearing aid but could benefit from some extra auditory support.
Design and Fit
At first glance, the Olive Max hearing aids might appear larger than expected, resembling oversized Bluetooth headsets from the early 2000s. However, their sporty, two-tone white and gray design and wrap-around ear hooks ensure a secure and comfortable fit. The kit includes eight different ear tips in three styles, allowing you to find the perfect match for your ears.
Performance and Features
The Olive Max hearing aids deliver on their promise, providing users with an easy-to-use solution right out of the box. While hooking them over your ears might take some practice, especially if you wear glasses, the controls on the back of each aid allow you to adjust volume independently for each ear and select from four environmental modes: TV, Meeting Room, Outdoor, or Restaurant. Additionally, the “Hear-Thru mode” lets you use the Olive Max as regular Bluetooth earbuds by disabling the environmental audio processing.
Customization via the My Olive App
To further customize your listening experience, you can use the My Olive app (available for both iOS and Android). Surprisingly, the hearing aid manual doesn’t mention the app or the fact that you can use the Olive Max as Bluetooth earbuds. The app also offers a feature called ”Mask Mode,” which enhances speech clarity when the speaker is wearing a face mask, as well as a tinnitus masking feature for those who suffer from ringing in the ears.
