Storiaverse: A New Platform for Immersive Storytelling

Introducing Storiaverse

The creators of Podcorn, Agnes Kozera and David Kierzkowski, have launched a new app called Storiaverse. This short-form entertainment platform offers a unique reading experience that combines animated video and written content, catering to graphic novel readers and adult animation fans who seek original stories in a concise, animated format.

Our mission is to make Storiaverse the biggest storytelling platform and to make reading more immersive and engaging.

Kozera, who also co-founded the YouTube marketing platform FameBit (which was acquired by Google in 2016), believes that Storiaverse’s format will attract not only existing fans of literature and animation but also wider audiences looking for new forms of entertainment, including visual readers who may have previously shied away from reading.

The “Read-Watch” Format

Storiaverse’s “Read-Watch” format allows users to swipe up on a story to watch animated clips and tap on the screen to enter reading mode. Users can also choose to read all the chapters first and then view the animation later. Stories vary in length from five to ten minutes.

Diverse Content and Partnerships

At launch, Storiaverse offers 25 original titles across various genres, including science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, and comedy. The app features creators such as animators Josh Ryba and Jonathan Fontaine, as well as writer John M. Floyd. Storiaverse has also partnered with book publisher HarperCollins to adapt titles like Madeleine Roux’s Asylum series and Joelle Charbonneau’s Dividing Eden series. TikTok star and independent animator King Science (Science Akbar) is also creating an exclusive story for the app.

Currently, more than 100 creators are working with Storiaverse, and over 100 stories are in development.

Storiaverse aims to support independent writers who often struggle for recognition and compensation by offering them a modern format to reach new readers. The app compensates both writers and animators for their contributions, with fees varying based on factors such as the length and complexity of the story.

Creators can apply on Storiaverse’s website, and accepted writers are connected with an animator to bring their words to life. The company is also developing a Creator Suite to facilitate collaboration, provide performance insights, and explore additional monetization opportunities.

Funding and Future Plans

Storiaverse has raised $2.5 million in pre-seed funding led by 500 Global. The company plans to explore various revenue streams, such as ads, merchandise, subscriptions, and product placement in videos.
